cant share files over two laptops

Have spent last 3 hours trying to set up file sharing on two laptops

Have checked settings in both firewalls and all settings are exactly the same on both laptops

They are both sony vaios

On one laptop we can access the other ones files but when we try to access them off the other laptop we get an error message 0x80070035

Both the laptops connect wirelessly to the router for net access so not an issue with the wireless settings

they are both running the same version of vista

both have netbios enabled

they both have tcpv4 and tcpv6 selected

any help would be greatly appreciated

So you can see the files on the other laptop but you can't access them?

On the one laptop (laptop A) we can access the files put in the other ones shared folder (Laptop B). But laptop B cant access anything on laptop A, infact it doesnt even show up

Does one Vista laptop have the network node set to Private (in Network Connection & Sharing Center)?
