Please suggest good free utilities
I'm running WinXP on an old computer. I've tried startuplite, but it doesn't works so well. A little over a week ago, a tech at the local University took control of my computer and added several programs, which did make the computer run faster; however, the computer crashed shortly after with BSD and wouldn't even boot into safe mode. When I went to reinstall windows all the space on my hard drive was free. I had run both McAfee Security system and Malwarebytes just before logging off the day before, so don't think was a virus. The tech had added Glary, some defraging program, and other things, that I uninstalled (like the new google browser) without really asking me. I did leave the Glary and defraging program.
Any ideas on good and safe programs to speed up my computer, limit startup, clean it up and defrag it? Thank you. Last edited by tierra; 08-23-2009 at 07:41 AM. |

Re: Please suggest good free utilities
Thank you. I thought that maybe the Glary had something to do with the computer crash so I didn't reload it when I load programs onto my computer.
