Slow file sharing?
Hey guys im using a WRT54GR wireless router. I have a macbook laptop thats hardwired to the router and a XPS 410 Dell Desktop also hardwired to the same router. Im transferring my music collection/some movies which total to around 13.8GB from the mac to the desktop. At first the transfer rate was about 350KBs but right as im writing this its went up to 655KBs and continues to grow. I feel like the transfer rate should be alot faster...Like i just downloaded Windows 7 at a rate of 1.55MBs the other day. Is this the speed it should be or is it slow? and if it is slow what can i do about it?
I have comcast internet. Thanks guys, appreciate all the help. |

Re: Slow file sharing?
Hello and welcome to the forum.
I am afraid to say transfering files as large as you are over a network is a very slow process and it will fluctuate in speed. You would be better splitting the file into smaller files and sending them over your network. JB. |
