Folders being renamed by network users

Hi all...

We are running a small network with about 10 pc's, one of which is acting as a file server. All the pc's are running Windows XP Professional, generally service pack 2 and 3. One of the network users are renaming the folders on the file server, and it is obviously causing confusion and unorganisation.

I need to know which network user is responsible for the above. I have attempted to do some research regarding the matter, however I have been unsuccessful in learning anything. I am not even sure if this is possible, however it does not appear to be possible with Windows XP.

Please advise if anyone knows of an application which is able to help me determine which user is the culprit. I do have full admin rights on all the pc's, including the file server.

Thank you very much.

Re: Folders being renamed by network users

If you are using "Simple File Sharing", no one will be able to remotely rename anything.

Re: Folders being renamed by network users

If you use XP-Pro, you can set the permissions on the folders to keep them from renaming the folders. You might als fire the clod that keeps screwing up the network.
