reducing/limiting upload

Hey guys,

I hope this is in the right section. So last night, my internet got cut off because i reached the traffic limit. I called this morning and the guy told me my uploading went over the limit. I do not know why as I don't use programs such as Bittorrent or megaupload, etc...

Is there a way to limit my own upload or find out what and how im uploading the stuff?

What are you running that would be doing continuous uploads? My guess if it's not P2P that you have malware.

i've heard of malware before.. but what exactly is it? a virus?

A virus or spyware is malware.
