I used to be able to share folders over my network but lately i just haven't been able to. The computer is running windows Xp and there are 3 other laptops on the network which all have windows xp running on them. Whenever i try to share a folder, i right click go to properties, sharing, share this folder then apply, it says There was a problem sharing the folder"Documents". The data is invalid . The shared folder was not created at this time.
On all the other laptops it says that there is a shared folder in network places, but when they try and access it, it says, you may not have permission and it cannot locate it, the network name could not be found. When i look on the home computer it says that its not shared and theirs no hand on the front of it 2 weeks ago i was able to access that folder easily but when i couldn't access a folder on it that i recently put on it said i didn't have permission. So i installed then reinstalled the file and printer sharing windows client form properties in network connections. So that might have been where it started. but I'm not really sure.I have tried everything and if anyone could please help me i would be so so so thankful ![]()
