Scanning issues
Hi ~ My mom has a Mac & wants to keep my sis (RN) & bro (DC) informed re: my dad's health. It would help her a lot if she could simply SCAN the tests to them both - but I haven't been able to figure out exactly how to do that. She has an HP-Photosmart 2610 & there's a lot of info re: PHOTOS. But most of her sharing will be text. We need help!
(Mac OS X; version 10.4.11) THANKS! (The User Guides are not helping! grrr!) P.S. Please type v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y... hahaha I don't even know what a thread is! |

Re: Scanning issues
Well, when you scan things, they don't turn out to be text, they're graphics. You simply need to email the resultant graphics files created by the scanner. For size issues, I'd scan in B/W mode for text files, that's similar to a FAX transmission and makes much smaller files.

Re: Scanning issues
Thanks, John for trying to help. I'm at my folks on Sun/Mon, but go back home to my PC usu. T/W. Then I live with a client & have NO computer Thu-Sat, so I won't be able to continue this conversation till I'm back @ their Mac in a few days. The tests/labs etc. are always in B/W. When I'm next in front of their machine/s I will tell you the options I have with their psc. One is JPEG gallery, & there are 3 others. I'm frustrated as I was successful 3 yrs. ago in scanning photos to my sis for my mom's 80th b-day.
Bottom line - once someone helps me figure this out, it has to be easy for my mom to perform, so I've got my fingers crossed that this will work! TX again - |

Re: Scanning issues
I'm not familiar with the Mac software, being a PC guy. I'm sure however there is a way to scan in either B/W or grayscale for the media.

Re: Scanning issues
Hi, John. It's so easy to get things misconstrued here! The COLOR - gray or B/W isn't an issue at all. It's the fact that I can't get from the printer/scanner to the computer to PEOPLE via email. I'll be back with the Mac Sunday a.m. & as I said, I'll give you the LIST of the 4 options it provides. Any chance a MAC person can assist? thx again -

Re: Scanning issues
To email a graphic, all you have to do is attach it to the email. I'm sure there's an option to do that with your email client!
