Installing IE6.0[MOVED FROM WINDOWS]

I am working on a Win2000 Pro machine running IE5.0. IE keeps showing error message" ieplore.exe has encountered a problem and must shut down".
I googled the problem and I saw suggestions to reinstall IE but I wanted the latest version that would be supported by win2000 pro so I installed 6.0. This seemed to solve the problem but now the work station can't connect to network printer. Error message "access denied, unable to connect". This work station needs to be able to print off web pages and print microsoft documents. The printer driver is installed on server 2003 and all workstations are printing to ip address. Can anyone offer suggestions on what to do?

Re: Installing IE6.0

I could go to the printer and get the ip address. I set it up 6 months ago to be static. What should I do if I can't? I'm thinking I won't be able to get a good ping. Does the network printer show up in ipconfig/all command? The printer is set up on the server and I can't remember how I set all other workstations to print to ip address. I believe I need to sit at that problem workstation and log into the server and then some sort of way find that printer in the list and click on it and then the association is established but I can't remember each step in the process.

Re: Installing IE6.0[MOVED FROM WINDOWS]

Hey Geek girl,

U found out anything yet???? I need to go back to this office tonight to resolve problem.
I posted this problem on the Networking forum, but no word. Seems to me, all I need to do is just reconfigure the workstation to connect to network printer as if it were never connected before. I just can't remember the process on how to do this.
