Transfer Vista from laptop to desktop?
I just bought a new desktop PC, and the copy I had that I THOUGHT was Vista Basic, was actually Microsoft Office 2007 (my memory is really jacked up), and I was wondering if there was anyway for me to transfer Vista from my laptop to my desktop and save myself damn near $100?
If I sound like an idiot asking if there's a way to do this, just tell me. I understand that a laptop is much different from a desktop, but I'm kinda desperate. I got this new desktop with the finest stuff I could find, hoping to make my first gaming rig. I got everything in it set up except for the processor, and I'd like to not have to spend an extra $100 on an OS. |

Re: Transfer Vista from laptop to desktop?
if vista came with your laptop, you cannot transfer and will need to purchase a full retail version if you want it on your desktop. If its a retail upgrade or the full retail version, you will have to completely remove then you can install.

Re: Transfer Vista from laptop to desktop?
This is also illegal, I suggest a reading of the Tech Support Forum Rules & Conduct before any future posts.
