Setting Up a Laptop to act like two
I'm new to the forum, so I'll try to explain my problem. My wife has a laptop and does all her "computing" email, etc. using IE Outlook Express, Windows Live, etc.. I have a desktop doing my "computing" email, etc through Microsoft Office 2007, Office Outlook. We are going on a 65 day cruise and I would like to set up my wife's laptop, so it is the same for her when she uses it, and the same for me (same as my desktop) when I use it. The other piece is I would like to copy my active programs (like photoshop, Quicken, etc.) and files to her laptop (or a small external hard drive), use them on her laptop during the trip, then when we return download, or update my desktop so I don't miss a thing. I know it sounds easy, but I'm not a pro at this stuff so you have to walk me through it step by step. Thanks for any assistance you can give. By the way we both use Windows Vista Home Premium Pack 1, her laptop is an HP Pavalion dv6000, and mine is a HP desktop Pavalion m7750n.

Re: Setting Up a Laptop to act like two
How does this relate to networking?
![]() Truthfully, I'd configure the laptop with dual-boot and have two configurations, it'll be a lot simpler to handle.

Re: Setting Up a Laptop to act like two
Sorry if I got the wrong forum. It's just that "file sharing" was the closest I could find to what I was asking. Thanks for the tip, however, I will pursue that avenue.
