upgrading to windows xp from 2000
If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.
I am trying to figure out a way to deploy a silent windows xp upgrade from 2000. I need to do this for over 200 pc's in different cities from 1 central location. What software do I need and what batch files and unattended files do I need to run to make this work. Do to some custom software we use, I cant do a full clean install which would be better to do. Thanks |

Re: upgrading to windows xp from 2000
This promises to be a VERY ugly process! Many times, there is no way to sort the issues unattended, and as you correctly observe, doing a clean install would be a much better bet.
Have you considered preparing a "generic" image using SYSPREP and doing that clean install? It probably won't be any more problematic than trying to update all of these machines. Truthfully, I seriously doubt that this can all be accomplished remotely.
