Hello,
i have win 2003 server with Ftp enabled.I also have a Linksys router that connects me to the Internet. I have a public IP address given to me by my ISP. My problem is, i cannot ftp to my server from outside my LAN. Inside the LAN the ftping is okay through use of core ftp client. i can also successfully ping my address from inside the LAN however when i go out i cannot ping the Public IP address. I have enabled port forwarding on the router. But the fact that the IP is inaccessible from outside points to the fact that Ftping is out of reach for me remotely. If there is anybody with an idea please advise. |

Re: FTP connectivity
It's possible that the router is set to ignore public ping requests. I believe this might be enabled by default on certain models.
As for the FTPing, your ISP could be blocking that port for security or Terms of Service reasons. Try running the server on a different port and see if that works.
