Adding printers to network

I have tried and tried to get my printers added to my network. I have a desktop wired to the internet via cable moden and wireless router. The other two computers are wireless. Please help. I have tried turning off my firewall on the desktop computer already.

Re: Adding printers to network

Weirdly i did this from a family member today, so i will walk you through it :)

1. Go too the main pc which has the printer connected too it and open up control panel > printers & other hardware > Add a printer. Network set up should appear, go through this. Make sure you make it a public sharing network, one of the steps asks about 'allow sharing of printers' make sure you allow this. (note the last step asks for a network name, leave what is already in, saves futre hassle as you will find out)

2. go on the laptops and do the same as above making a network, on the last step, make sure the network names are all the same on ALL the systems!

3. Reboot the newly added sytems (no need to reboot the main system) and go back too add a printer. there on the system list, double click the printer..

should be done, need any more help just ask!
