Sharing permissions
i wish to share a folder on my laptop with specific users of my desktop, both have xp and are connected via a modem/router.
i disable simplesharing and go to the sharing/security tab for the folder, however when i try to change the permissions i cannot change the location, it just says the laptop and doesnt give me the option of adding the home desktop/ please help |

It can be very confusing. Go here..
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/301281 The biggest thing is to make sure all pcs on the network are named the same, I use workgroup. Once that is done its very simple, just right click the folder and go to share, and follow the prompts.
