Got a puzzle for you. Serious

I need to develop a method in which outside Sales people can access files on a server on a network. They currently access from their homes, customer sites, hotels; all through a VPN. There has got to be a faster way, cause they are always complaining that it is really slow. I welcome any insight I can get.

If someone has a solution to this, I have an even better dilemma.

Seriously thanks for your assistance.

How about secured access to a private web server? If you have it hosted on the web on a decent provider, the file access should be pretty speedy.

Secured access to a private server? That isn't FTP? I am new at this...

Our company website is on our own server that is on site. What kind of things would I need to set up in order for that to work much like Windows Explorer?

I have attached a file that will show what actions will be taken.

No, HTTP access isn't FTP, it's through the Internet browser. Think of your on-line banking or brokerage site, the connection is encrypted by the SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) and the communications are protected much like a VPN. However, it can be hosted on a off-site web hosting service that will provide very fast access to the Internet backbone. This will take a little work, but the payoff will likely be worth it if this is a major issue.
