looking for a programme
hi i had a strange thing that i am asking about
i had a copied cd written on it that its size is can only carry 700mb but when i open it it is more than 2gb \nd it is not compressed with winzip or winrar or an iso file or something how is this is there a way to do this ?,a prog or something? ![]() ![]() |

I'd say the CD is corrupted, because that is NOT possible on any CD media. You're simply being lied to by Windows about the capacity due to the corruption.

Like I said, Windows is lying to you about the capacity due to the fact the CD data is corrupted.

CDs, simply put, do not come in sizes larger than 700MB. DVDs on the other hand can.
It is just not possible to fit 2GB of data on a 700MB CD unless the data is compressed. You can fit a bit more than 700MB possibly if overburning, but you are talking in the realm of a few more MB at most. Otherwise, it is just physically and conceptually impossible. Period. End of story. ![]() What johnwill was referring to was that Windows can misreport the reported size of files if those files or the media which they are on are corrupted. This means either the data was infact compressed or is corrupted. |
