So I am planning to connect my two laptops, the first is running on XP, and the other on Vista. I just want to move my files from XP to Vista. How do I set up the LAN? Do I need to use router? Or just LAN cable?? I've tried plugging the LAN cable between the two and it didn't do much.
Please guide me throughly. I'm totally blank in this. Thanks a lot. ![]() Oh yeah I already have a network and workgroup, the whole deal. Just the part about me not being able to connect to the computer...thats all. Last edited by redeyes99 : 03-06-2008 at 10:54 PM. |

Re: Setting up a very very simple LAN?
You need a crossover CAT5 cable, not a plain patch cable. You'll also need to configure the IP addresses manually. Use the networking wizard.
