Re: Sharing Files And Programs

Documents, Downloads, Music, Pics, Videos, Recorded TV are folders that I am able to share from my newest computer (which doesn't have any files on it as of yet). My son's computer is offline, so I need to see what I can share from there, after I get it back online. I would however, like to see what he has been doing, even when his computer is offline, if that is possible. I also need to go to another computer to see which files are accessible from my notebook, because if I check them from here, all of them will be accessible for me. I would like to be able to play the Mahjong game from my new computer, on my notebook. I like that version better than the one that I have on my notebook. There are also backgrounds and screen savers on my new computer that I would love to have on my notebook. I will attempt to search for them, if I am unable to share them. I am new to networking, and have only monitored the internet sharing for the last several years. I know that when I am at work, people from my IT can remotely go into my work's computer (even from across the country) and pull up and do whatever they want and like. This is why I thought that programs could be shared between computers that are on the same network. I got my Office 2007 now, so I have downloaded it to all of my connected computers, no need to worry about sharing those programs. Just wish that I didn't have to use all of that space on all of my computers, but the program was needed.

Re: Sharing Files And Programs

You can not share applications, they have to be installed on each computer. As far as viewing the screen of remote computers, I use UltraVNC for that application here.
