On Demand TV/movie Companies

I am very ill and am in bed 90% of the day. I was wondering if there have been any clear leaders in the ability to watch TV on demand. I have found many sites that I can stream a lot, however it seems that I have to use a whole bunch and even then sometimes the quality is bad or broken.

I wondered if there are any programs that you would suggest (Preferably free as my med bills are so high, but if it worked great I may be able to do it)

I am kinda scared to download any as I really don't know what I am doing yet. (I was just given a HP Pavilion Entertainment laptop so I could have it in bed, what a great freedom it has been!)

I see all sorts of ads for (Satilite TV via PC and similar things for different prices and don't know what to do. I would really love to find a reliable On Demand way to watch TV Shows as sometimes I can't sleep for very long periods of time and I really want to watch a certain show to cheer me up or whatever (yay Little Britain!)

I am living out of the states right now and it has been a great comfort to get to see a lot of shows from home.

Thank you for all your time in advance!

Daniel

Re: On Demand TV/movie Companies

Well, all of the TV sites I've seen have been pretty abysmal, I don't know of any that have decent programming.
