Can access but cannot see shared network folders

hey there. I'm having a weird network problem. I'm having a problem with seeing shared network places between three computers with XP sp2.

I am having a problem that started recently where I have 2 folders that won't show up in the network places, but if i put in their address manually, i can connect to them.

symptoms and details:
- I can add new folders, and they will show
- changing the folder name to something shorter that won't cause problems won't work
- resharing it doesn't working
- deleting HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\WorkgroupCrawler so it would refresh it won't work.
- the main problem folder i want is in a folder with 9 other shared folders, and if i share that root folder I can navigate through it, but i can't share it that way because their are other folders in their i don't want shared.
- if i share another folder, then unshare it, it will still be listed

i've renewed ips, reinstalled network drivers, changed workgroup names across the network, got all windows updates, disabled any firewalls, and it still isn't working

i've been having this problem for a couple weeks. it like part of the network isn't refreshing or something. hopefully somebody has some insight. thanks.

itunes music 120207plus

but like i said, i've tried changing the folder name to 'test' and it wouldn't work, because i thought it could be a naming problem.

What version of Windows? You have XP-Home listed, are both machines XP-Home?

Re: Can access but cannot see shared network folders

yes, 4 computers on the network are xp home sp2, and one non-problem computer is vista home. The 4 xp comps all have sp2, and with this current problem i've downloaded all the updates for all of them.

This only happens on one machine?
