Hmm Need help setting up a way to access my files at home
So basicly.. Im at work and we have an internet filter up. So what i would like to do is set up a way to retrieve files from my home computer.
Heres my set up at home DSL provided through a speedstream 5200 modem (PPPoE) that goes to a Linksys (i believe WRT54G) router where i connect wirelessly. I have also registered on dyndns.org as well. So i set up and it points to my ss5200 firmware. I know that i need to port forward and possibly staticly asign my private IPs but other then that its a blank on how to go about my goal.. its a blank its kinda like one of those "i wish i were smarter moments" Anyways if anyone can suggest a free way for me to be able grab my files at home from work.. id be in your debt

I'd install an FTP server, FileZilla is an excellent choice.
Then I'd go to www.portforward.com and use their port forward guide to configure FTP access for your router.

will i have to still staticly assign the IPs in my linksys? And will i have to port forward in my router or modem?

You will have to do a port forward to the machine, so you may need a static IP address on that machine. Many routers will allow you to lock IP addresses to MAC addresses, don't know if your Linksys has that capability.
