Copying CD's to PC

When a cd is uploaded to my pc, will the files automatically be in MP3 format?? I have XP and Vista.

Uploaded using what application? If you read then with WMP, they'll probably be in WMA format.

But if I transfer them to itunes, they will format to MP3?

There are settings in itunes and WMplayer to convert to MP3 in the options. By default WMPlayer converts to wma or w/e but you can change it to MP3. (only in WMplayer 9 I think).

There is also 3rd party apps that will do it..and convert to whatever format you want.
