share a hard drive
i have a 300 gb external hd. i currently go to college and we have a lan connection throughout all the rooms at the dorm and i was wondering if i can share my external hard drive with a specific person?

That will depend on exactly how the network at the college is configured. If you have connectivity end to end to the person's machine, you can do it. FWIW, I would STRONGLY suggest you not simply stick the drive on the network and share it, you leave yourself wide open to problems. I'd use an FTP server on my machine to share files on the drive.
