File Will Not Delete

ok i recently start working for this new company and upon browsing around the network i found a folder which contains way too much porn videos that should be legally allowed (dont worry i backed it up) lol. any way i am now trying to delete this folder but i am unable to do so because i alwayse get a message saying that its write protected but i should still be able to delete this folder if i am using my admin password shouldent I?i even tried deleting it from the server directly but i am still unable to do so. its not really any big network its just a small work group which consists of like 60 computers.any advice would be appreciated (note) i am not that experienced in the technology field i have recently taken it up.

Boot the affected machine in safe mode, any connections should be released, then delete the folder.
