problem accessing server by multiple clients
Dear all
i have a small LAN of ten computers connected by a 10/100 Mbps fast ethernet switch. Now the server configuration is Pentium IV 3.0 Ghz with 512 MB RAM and a broadcom netXterme Gigabit ethernet card on the server. The problem is when a client( lets say pc1) is updating/copying/transferring a file on the server if another client(pc2) wants to do a similar task simultaneously on the server the client i.e. pc2 hangs and in most cases we have to restart it. meanwhile pc1 also sometimes hangs with it. the clients are p IV with 2.56 GHz amd windows 2k or xp. i appreciate all the help. Thanks |
