Win 98 system polices problem [MOVED FROM WINDOWS]
Hi Here's my problem,
Got given an old win 98 with a couple of good/large drives. I installed a NIC works fine and want to use this drives as an automated backup machine for my precious files. I have attached it to my XP machine using a cross over cable. Can ping the machines back and forth but cannot see either machine in opposing network neigbourhoods. Tried to install fioe and print sharing on 98 (the XP has all drives share enabled.) I get "System policies do not allow adding the selected device." I'm guessing that, in a previous life, this computer had an administrator add some policies which now lock me out. Any suggestions, hacks workarrounds? thanks Dins |
