storage system
I ordered parts for a PC Monday. I am planning on building a storage PC. I am debating about what to install for Operating System (choosing a linux) but my biggest question is what would be best to use for this.
- Only accessible from one PC. - Non-internet routed. - Will have firewall, AV and spyware setup to run checks on drives daily. - No Fault Tolerance (don't have the money) - Drives will be monitored on all specs. - No direct connection besides RJ-45 (Ethernet) - Accessed, controlled and worked on via VPN Anyone have any ideas what would be a good open source (linux compatible) software for sharing?

Re: storage system
There are several free Linux based NAS packages, that might be a good way to go.
