Write permissions on Windows XP Pro network
I'm having a problem writing to a directory I should have access to over a windows XP network.
Right now I can see the files on \\workstation\directory fine, but I can't write to any of the files and can't add a new file to the directory. I have set all of the permissions so that everyone has access, disabled the firewall, and added the same account with the same password to both computers. Both machines are Windows XP Pro, sharing a workgroup. The only thing between the computers is a router/modem (netopia 3347WG) running the default settings. I have a database running on this computer (the server) but the client keeps throwing up ODBC errors. I run ODBCAD32 and make my way to System DSN>shoplnk and test the connection. I get a confirmation telling me that everything is running fine there. This is why I'm thinking it may have something to do with me not being able to write to the directory. The database server I'm trying to connect to is Sybase Adaptive Server Anywhere Network server 8.0.2 |
