Simplify Backups For Non Tech Users

I need to set up a simple backup across a two user network (WIN XP). The Target will be CD Writer drive. I have seen a setup with an ICon in the desktop, which, when "Clicked" backs up pre seslected data and burns onto CD. How does one set this up?

You probably need a CD backup application, since there is no "one step" method using XP's CD writing capability. I don't backup to CD/DVD, I prefer USB or Network connected hard disks.

Well I have found a great way of doing this but not to a CD. I use a removable disk and use a program called Smart backup. It is easy to setup and works like a charm. Doing it on a removable disk allows me to be able to take the disk with me when ever I need to with a copy of all my essential software and data. Here is a link to there web site.

There are plenty of excellent free alternatives for backup, no need to pay for one. I use Cobian Backup, but it doesn't fit the desired parameters of the original poster.
