Exclamation Moving files from one drive to another

Hi, I had a problem with my computer and have had to reinstall windows. I'm trying to copy my files to my laptop before I do this but some of the files say access denied when I try to copy them. Any suggestions about how to get around this?

You can try booting in safe mode and then copy the files that you need

Question

I tried having my computer in safe mode but it still didn't work. maybe I should clarify. My computer won't load at all so I'm using a hard drive enclosure to transfer the files to my laptop. When I try to copy some pictures, it says that access was denied. Any ideas?

You may need to Take Ownership of the file/folders that you are having the issue with.
