SERIOUS Problems w/ File Sharing
Here's my situation.
I have a few XP Pro PC's trying to access another XP Pro PC. They are all running SP2. The PC can see the other computers, access & change their files, etc, no problem whatsoever. But NONE of the other computers can see this one PC. I've tried EVERYTHING. I mean everything. I get this error when trying to access it : http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...an/Network.jpg Before you suggest something, please note I have done the following : - Run the home or office network setup wizard - Enabled NetBIOS over TCP/IP on all computers - Disabled all firewalls - Used the Command Shell from Windows Resource Kit to enable guest authentication (thread below, posted by Q somebody...) - Went to gpedit.msc, and disabled "Limit local account use of blank passwords to console logon only". - Restarting the computer(s) after trying these changes - Tried unsharing and resharing the folder(s). I STILL cannot access this one computer! I am desperate beyond belief, this computer cannot be reformatted to fix the problem. Thanks for your time. |

Is this the script you tried?
Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer If you see this message the following should be done on the computer containing the shared files: Download the following and install it Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit Tools http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=4544 after installation is complete, click on: Start, All Programs, Windows Resource Kit Tools, Command Shell Then enter the following commands. (Attention: they are case sensitive.) net user guest /active:yes ntrights +r SeNetworkLogonRight -u Guest ntrights -r SeDenyNetworkLogonRight -u Guest The first command enables network access for Guest, the two subsequent ones change two different policies to allow network access for Guest.

I asked if that was the script you used, since you weren't specific. You obviously didn't read my post.
