Confused Windows live messenger problem

Whenever I try to set up a contact sharing folder it says that my computer doesn't allow sharing folders.
I've tried MSN help and Help and Support on my computer, and nothing appears to be working.
I thought it might be my AVG, but it's expired and I'd have to download the new one to look through the settings and what not.
Help?

Windows live messenger is a very new software. I would give it sometime. Many features not yet working properly. I would say it is your security softwares such as firewalls and antispyware ones are casuing it. If you are experiencing the same problems with your security softwares UNINSTALLED then it definetely is a software exploit. Uninstall and reinstall the Windows live messenger and retry too. I would not worry a lot as i said above it is a very new software full of bugs and problems.
