Can't resolve "Read-Only"
Using XP and Simple File Sharing, I have checked the box labeled "Allow network users to change my files." However, when I try and change a file using another network computer, it opens as "Read-Only" and I'm unable to change it.
This problem seems to exist for this folder only. I have other shared folders in the same directory that I can change files in (I've checked the "allow network users to change my files"). I've tried changing the attributes for the folder (in folder properties) by removing the "read only" check mark, but the "read only" reappears after I click "OK." I would appreciate some help, Thanks |

It is currently in the Documents and Settings folder, but I have moved it to several other folders to see if that would change anything. Also, I have checked to see if I can change/edit other documents in the same directory/folder (i.e. Documents and Settings) and I can. It's just one single subfolder that contains about 8 other subfolders that I can't seem to resolve the read only issue.
Thanks |

Try booting into safe mode and then you can access the Security tab and check what permissions are applied to the folder in question.
