sending a large file through internet
I would like to send large file, maybe 2gb, from 1 pc to another pc through the internet. What is the best way to do that? The quality of the file is most important, not the speed of sending file.

The only option I can think of is to install an FTP server. I have used this one for a while until I got my server and managed to get the IIS FTP server working. It should be fairly straight forward to setup.

You might need to send it in a couple of parts, but there are a number of large file transfer sites that will temporarily host the file.

There is no way to transfer the files directly from one computer to another without a server. Whether means installing a server or using a file hosting service like what johnwill mentioned. The only way files can be transfered directly from one computer to other is if they are on the same network

what is safer to use, I don't want anyone else to be able to read or download the file except the pc I would like to send it to, an FTP program ,
or using these sites: Quote:

I use MSN Messenger to send 700mb iso files. The only problem with this method is that transfers can't be paused and resumed.
Or you could use a P2P program like Limewire and use direct contact through your IP address. Files can be resumed using this method.

If you don't want someone to read the file, simply ZIP it with encryption.
