need Help for my ethernet switch
we r 4 users using adsl line on 8-port switch, one of the users is doing damage to his port every 5 or 6 days , ( the led is stedy green and no cnnection ) then we move him to a new port , after 5 or 6 days the port is damaged again.
what could be the problem ? his NIC or the cable or what ? |

The top suspect here is an electrical grounding problem. I'd check the ground differential between that machine and other machines on the network. My guess is you'll find you have an electrical wiring issue, nothing to do with the computers or switch directly.
Next on the list is some sort of fault in the machine that is doing the same thing, i.e. changing the ground potential between his machine and the switch in question. The common mode voltage is obviously exceeding the maximum for the Ethernet connection, and it's killing the port.
