I have my main computer running on Win XP and a laptop running on Win 2000 prof. This came with a 3com 3CRSHPW_96 wireless LAN PC card. My router is an Edimax. Everything has been working fine until today.
I have two computer network symbols on the bottom right of my task bar on the laptop both saying that a network cable is unplugged - one refers to the wireless card and the other to Intel PRO/100 VE Network Connection#2. When I right click and try to enable each one a message tells me that the connection failed. I had a bit of "fun" installing the driver for the card because the computer told me the drivers weren't there but I think they are now. When I go on the internet a box with a red cross pops up and says that IE couldn't open the page. I don't know if it's relevant but the main computer was playing up big time before all this happened but that is OK now but the laptop isn't. Please help - I'm no expert on these sort of things and I'm slowly going mad with frustration! So please don't reply with too much technical jargon!! Thank you very much for any help! |
