Help setting up PC card

Hello, I am fixing a notebook computer for a co-worker, and I know nothing about notebooks. It has Windows 98 SE installed, and I have purchased a EZ Card 10/100 Mbps PC card for it. I was wondering how to install this so I can just plug my cable from my cable modem into it, and have the internet. As in, what settings would I have to set up. I know for most desktop PC's I build, I can just install a network card, and plug in the cable and have the internet, but will this be any different? Thanks for your help. If needed, the PC card is a SMC SMC8041TX. Thanks again

I have a few of those PCMCIA cards (other brands) on a network on older 98 laptops.

You need to run the setup CD so Win98 will know what to do with it, or get the drivers from the mfr website.

It is pretty simple and painless really
