A8V Deluxe can't detect network cable

As you may have seen in many other posts people have problems getting their Marvell Yukon ports on A8V deluxe MOBOS to recognize that there is a network cable plugged in.

I have the exact problem with a slight difference: for others it have worked with a old or new PCI network card, so i went a bought a simple Realtech card for 8$. When plugged in correctly the computer seems to recognise it and says that it is working correctly. But i get the same message as with the Marvell Yukon port. And when i try to install the drivers that came along with the realtech card it says it cant detect a LAN board on my comp.

Anyone got any ideas to what my problem is and what i can do to fix it?

(I'm running WinXP SP2)

Try start, run and type sfc /scannow

This will look for missing and damaged files in XP. You will need your xp disk in the cd drive for this.

I recently tried to install a fresh new Asus A8V Deluxe motherboard, and I also had problems with connections off the bat. Drivers from Asus website install the device, but it doesnt work right at all.

If you are still having problems try downloading the controllers for the device from the Marvell website (NIC chipset manufacturer)

http://www.marvell.com/drivers/drive...?dId=116&pId=3

Seemed to do the trick for me.
