Angry Netgear Wireless USB Adapter Trouble [HELP]

Hi
I am having problem after problem with my computer lately... Now it is with my Netgear Wireless USB Adapter. I have made a fresh re-install of my windows and have been using the internet with the adapter. Today i found a usb extension that holds up the adapter like an antenna. as soon as i unplugged the USB, the broblems began. i have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers.

just ask if you need more info, i am happy to provide it if it helps.

please help before i throw the USB out the Window!!

Re: Netgear Wireless USB Adapter Trouble [HELP]

Hi krismania

Have you installed the software and drivers that came with the device?

Check in device manager (Run, type in devmgmt.msc) and check the device is listed and there are no symbols next to it.

Re: Netgear Wireless USB Adapter Trouble [HELP]

Be sure you are plugging the adapter directly into the computer and not through the USB Extender (this diminishes the power making it harder to connect).

Re: Netgear Wireless USB Adapter Trouble [HELP]

thanks for responding!

I am pretty sure I installed the drivers, it worked fine until I unplugged it... I complained to Belkin tech support (because I use their Router) but they aren't helping anytime soon....

thanks again!

Re: Netgear Wireless USB Adapter Trouble [HELP]

When you unplugged it, did you use the safely remove hardware wizard?

In future, make a habit of using this when you unplug USB devices.
