Ethernet Not Working - Media Disconnected.

Hi. Im at university so i currently use my internet by connecting the ethernet cable directly from my laptop into the socket available on the wall.

it has been working perfectly for 2 months and all of a sudden, it just stopped working.

iv replaced the ethernet cable, still doesnt work. iv tried a different laptop on it, still doesnt work. although it could just be that the other machine is old and the drivers are outdated.

anyway, i was wondering is there any way that the internet connection in my room could have been disabled by the uni. not that im using it for anything dodgy lol. its just i think i have a better than average knowledge when it comes to computers, but this has just completely stumped me.

here is the IP information if it helps you, and please help me to sort this out, i desperately need the internet. oh and by the way, the wireless on my laptop works fine, however the box i am connected to, to write this post has very low signal.

Thanks:

Re: Ethernet Not Working - Media Disconnected.

You tried two different laptops on the connection, and both failed? Sounds like the building wiring and/or network routers have the problem.

Well, does ANYONE connect to the SAME jack with the SAME cable and get a connection?
