safe mode troubles[MOVED]
I feel like a complete idiot!! I have two computers in the house and one still runs 98 because they refuse to upgrade. I installed a wireless usb so he could connect to the net via, the wireless system that we already have in place. It installed with no problems, connected with no problems, but when you shut it down and then reboot it, it goes into safe mode and you cannot connect. The only way that you can get it out of safe mode is to unistall the new usb. Short of never shutting the computer down I've got no idea what to do here. I've contacted the manufacturer and all my equipment is compatible and I do meet the system requirements. As long as you don't shut it down...it's fine. I'm really getting frustrated. Please help!!

Re: safe mode troubles
Welcome to TSF
Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling? Win98 was always a stickler with usb devices and drivers, I would try that first. Also did you make sure the device is compatible with Win98?

Re: safe mode troubles[MOVED]
I did uninstall and reinstall, it is a netgear USB model number WG111v3 and according to net gear they are compatible (says it on the side of the box). When I uninstalled it, it came out of safe mode, but when I reinstalled it and then restarted the pc it went back into safe mode.
