Re: File Sharing b/n 2 pc's using usb-usb cable
I have no idea what that cable is, but you do NOT want to attempt to connect USB ports together directly. I don't see any interface module there.
What you really need is an Ethernet cable to network them. Configure the machines as follows. PC #1: IP address: 192.168.9.1 Subnet Address: 255.255.255.0 PC #2: IP address: 192.168.9.2 Subnet Address: 255.255.255.0 Leave the Default Gateway and DNS Server addresses blank. Make sure any firewalls are configured to put the 192.168.9.x subnet in the trusted zone. Finally, you'll have to enable fine/print sharing on the machines and actually share one or more folders or drives. Here's a page that describes the process in detail: http://www.howtodothings.com/compute...2-pcs-directly

Google 'usb transfer cable' . There are several on the market. The cable you show seems to be just an extension cable with no interface module.

You need the proper USB transfer cable and the software to go with it. I fail to see why you'd want to screw around with all of that when Networking will solve the issue with a $5 cable.
