Mysterious Intel® Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN

I have Computer w/ 3 operating systems on it, Windows Vista Ultimate, Windows 7 RC, and Windows XP Professional. Windows Vista was the original operating system but I downgraded due to software conflicts at the time. I hardly use Vista anymore because its too slow on my laptop, I use Windows XP and Windows 7RC.... ANYHOW....

I have a 7.1 mbps internet connection that I connect through over wireless G. My network card is the Intel® Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN. I have a Linksys WRT54gs2 router with secured WI-FI & mac address. When I connect to the internet using Windows XP OS, I download no faster than 80KB/s on rapidshare, or 150kb/s on the Microsoft server. When I use Windows 7 or Windows Vista, I download at 800kb/s on the same wifi connection. Therefore my questions is: WHY DO I DOWNLOAD SLOWER ON XP? I have my wireless card driver updated on all operated systems.

This sure seems like it would be the network drivers. Have you tried a wired connection to see if something on that machine is affecting network transfers?

Re: Mysterious Intel® Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN

sorry about the double post... On a wired connection I am limited to 312kb/s on rapidshare and on a Microsoft download I run at 700kb/s... On Vista or 7, I download at 800kb/s regardless where I download. Even though I am limited to one 312kb/s download on the xp machine for rapidshare, I can open another download have two downloads download at 800kb/s total on rapidshare.... I'm so lost, why would one website download faster than another on this O/S, yet I download perfectly the other O/S.

Obviously, something running on that system. With a wired connection, try it booted in Safe Mode with Networking, see if that changes things.
