USB adapter stopped / which is better?
Hi everyone.
I have been using a NETGEAR USB N Dual band adapter for about 3 months. (on a desktop PC running Vista 64). For some reason, its stopped accessing the internet. It shows that it stills finds and connects to the router, but there is no data transmission and the router is not showing that the device is connected. "IPCONFIG" is showing an IP address. I bought the piece refurbished, so I'm guessing it has just gone bad. I am considering buying a new device if I can't get the above to work. I was wondering which is better for me. I found that the range in this USB device was getting me about 80% strength. Would a PCI card (i.e. Linksys WMP600N is what I'm looking at) give me better signal? Maybe b/c there is more power to the device? Or should I go with a USB again if there isn't much difference. I was thinking maybe the D-Link Dual band N USB device. Okay, well thanks in advance! |

Re: USB adapter stopped / which is better?
I'd use a PCI card over USB any day.
