[SOLVED] Ethernet card gave out after Windows Update
Good day all,
I have Marvell Yukon Gigabit Ethernet 10/100/1000Base-T Adapter, Copper RJ-45 that one morning after a Windows update stopped working. Now, I thought maybe it was the card itself, since my computer is about 6 years old, so I hooked up my USB wireless card and went back to normal. Fast forward a few months, switched ISP and the tech came over and hooked up my new UltraLine wireless router through the ethernet. It still didn't work, but my wireless card again did work. A month after that, and I decide to jump in Ubuntu. Used Wubi to set it inside Windows, ran it and suddenly my ethernet card is working! Since I can't remember when the Windows update happened, is there anyway I can try to get my ethernet card working again in Windows? Thanks! Luke Last edited by lukeccby; 09-21-2009 at 12:18 PM. |

Re: Ethernet card gave out after Windows Update
I've had this happen to me on several boards (one of which was a asus m2n-e with that same adapter). It happened again just yesterday in fact with a gigabyte board and realtek adapter.
Uninstall the adapter in device manager. Make sure to check the "delete the device driver" box if it shows. Then restart the computer and let Windows find the device. Reinstall the driver if necessary.
