Netgear FV318 Network Slow
Hello Allm
I have 2 older systems, both with Windows 2000, (old systems), that I installed Trendnet PCI Wireless G network cards. I bought online, a Netgear FV318 8 port wireless router. The reason I am not using wireless N is because those 2 older systems have windows 2000, and I was told that Wireless N does not work on older windows 200 systems. I installed everything, and they work. I get speeds of almost 54mb per second. My router is in my living room, and I want to move the 2 older systems in my laundry room. My Problem is, that when I moved both computers to my laundry room, which is not too far away (i'd say about 30 feet) my network speeds transmission rate goes down to about 11mb per second. What can I do to speed the network transmission speed? Do you think it is my router? Should I buy 2 new network PCI wireless G cards? Should I buy a new router??? Any help is deeply appreciated! |
