Problem when upgrading from USB to PCI network adapter
Hi!
I'm trying to replace a DWA-140 USB wireless adapter with a DWL-G520 PCI wireless adapter but I cannot succeed. I use Vista 32bit business. I first removed the USB adapter. Then I uninstalled the drivers and software for the DWA-140. I installed the DWL-G520 PCI card and installed the drivers and software for the card. The DWL-G520 is visible in the Network connections view. It also is listed in the device manager with no problems. But, when I try to Connect to a Network I cannot see the SSID of the router. When I try to connect to the network manually, I get a message that say: "A network called XXX already exists." It is like the network XXX doesn't work with the DWL, only with the DWA. I want to switch to the PCI card since I have experienced too many dropouts when using any brand of USB adapter. I'm stuck, help me!

Re: Problem when upgrading from USB to PCI network adapter
Are you broadcasting the SSID from the router?
Did you go into the wireless network configuration and remove all the stored wireless profiles and let Windows create a new one?
