[SOLVED] yellow exclamation - linksys wireless pci card
Hi all,
I'm having some problems with my card. It's a linksys WMP54GS pci adapter for wireless. I ran the CD, turned off computer, installed the card, turned on computer and there's a yellow exclamation next to the device in device manager. Code 10 - conflicting resources. I have the latest drivers installed (linksys has not come out with any new drivers for this for a long time). I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers. I'm running WindowsXP. Thanks for your help! |

Re: yellow exclamation - linksys wireless pci card
Try uninstalling ALL the drivers for this card, turn off the machine, and move it to a different PCI slot, then reinstall the drivers.

Re: yellow exclamation - linksys wireless pci card
Resource allocation is a BIOS function, and it doesn't always work the same for all the slots.

Re: [SOLVED] yellow exclamation - linksys wireless pci card
I'm having the same problem with my Compaq x6000 but it's a laptop and I don't know how to remove the nic card. I did remove the driver and rebooted only to see the exclamation mark was still there and the driver reinstalled automatically.
I had previously installed a Vonage V-Portal Phone Adapter in line with the Linksys WRT54G2 v1 wireless router. Things started going wrong and I might have changed something at the address 192.164.1.1. Does anyone have screen shots of what the settings should be? I'm forced to use a wired connection now. |

Re: [SOLVED] yellow exclamation - linksys wireless pci card
A laptop is a different animal, obviously you can't move the card.
Try uninstalling the drivers, then rebooting and enter the BIOS setup. Reset the BIOS to factory defaults and allow the boot to continue. See if that helps.

Re: [SOLVED] yellow exclamation - linksys wireless pci card
The exclamation point is still on the wireless computer in the systray. Then there was that person chatting with me from one of the identities in my Yahoo email as if I knew them. But the biggest possibility probably is the Linksys Wireless-G Broadband router setup page that I probably changed something on. I didn't delete it but I noticed the Host name and Domain name boxes are empty. It's accessed by typing 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.100 into the address bar of a browser.
