Angry Dell 1501 Wireless Card not working

Had to re-install WinXp due to a virus. Could not use the recovery partition. No Disks so created a WinXp - SP1a then applied SP3. Following that I applied the Dell System Drivers I downloaded from Dell.

That is the good news. The ONLY thing I can not get working is the Wireless.

HELP!! It is driving me nuts. I simply get an unknown Network Controll under the Other Devices.

Any thoughts on how to correct?

Re: Dell 1501 Wireless Card not working

Use the Service tag # from the dell and access the proper drivers for the Dell site.

I'm assuming this is a laptop from my search?

Re: Dell 1501 Wireless Card not working

THanks John. I had done that already. The challenge is that the Dell WLAN card driver is installed but no card is detected still. I tried the (FN)(F2) to turn on the wireless just incase I missed that as well. No luck. Strange behavior. I was able to get everything else working just great.

Any more thoughts?

Re: Dell 1501 Wireless Card not working

Perhaps the Dell site has the wrong driver? I think I'd contact Dell support and ask if that's the correct driver for your machine.

I'm assuming this is an internal wireless card that was originally supplied with the laptop?
