Vist x64 crashes when plugging in network cables

Hi,

Since end of last year I am running Vista x64 (i7 proc) and so far I have had no problems.

Since last week my PC started crashing regularly. Have uninstalled some sw which I recently installed (couple of weeks ago). However the problem is still there. Now after I got desperate I started removing things, switching on / off. I found that when removing the network cable everything works. When plugging in the cable the PC goes BLUE screen

I have no idea where this comes from - anybody had (or had) the same problems?

Rgds,
Jeroen

Re: Vist x64 crashes when plugging in network cables

Takew a look at the event log see if it gives you any good info.

you can always try reinstalling the drivers =)
or perhaps the client for microsoft networks.

anyway good luck

Re: Vist x64 crashes when plugging in network cables

I tried all of that without result ... did also hardware checks etc.
So it seems to be a typical M$ bug - nobody knows where it comes from and you need to reinstall everything.

When crashing it also deleted 1 useraccount (plus all data) completely ... no virus or whatsoever (firewalls active, virus scanners and not strange software installed). Anyhow thank God I backed everything up ....

Thanks for the feedback!

Jeroen

PS: saw another post on this site with the same problem ....
